每年的新年前後都是築地市場的吞拿魚拍賣的高峰期，而且在部分日子也是新年休假，所以在這段期間為了維持市場內拍賣的暢通，吞拿魚拍賣將會暫停對外開放，不過市場內的店鋪及餐廳等就不受影響啦，除了新年休假都是一樣休息除外。
今年的吞拿魚拍賣暫停開放日是由12月1日至來年的1月18日為止，期間的拍賣場地將嚴禁非授權職員進入喔，所以如果真的要看吞拿魚拍賣的話，就要把握暫停開放前後的日子啦，不過其實來看拍賣的都以歐美旅客為主，港台旅客大部分都只會集中在築地的美食吧？
